In 1977, while a history major in college, Angelica’s  future uncle, Modesto Peracchio, asked her to research his two brothers Alberto and Sebastiano, who died on the ill-fated ship.

This began a 40-year search, including libraries in Manhattan, New York, USA; Titanic research books; and contacts with the National Maritime Museum in Southampton, England; and Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

In 2017, she was invited to Halifax by the Titanic Society of Atlantic Canada. Her research culminated in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, at the foot of Luigi Gatti’s grave.
